Community partner events

We invite committed individuals and groups to help us raise funds and collect in-kind gifts to provide the best resources for the children, youth, and families in our programs. Any individual or group (outside of Child Crisis Arizona) that organizes and hosts an event, promotion, sale, or donation drive on behalf of Child Crisis Arizona is defined as "third party."

Third-party fundraising is a wonderful way for you, your company, or your community group to support our mission by organizing your own fundraising event or campaign on our behalf. Whether it’s a charity walk, birthday fundraiser, or a workplace giving challenge, your creativity and passion can make a big difference.

Guidelines for hosting events

Your generous support makes it possible for us to continue serving the children and families in our community. To help us stay aligned with our agency values and ensure a consistent experience for everyone, we've created a few simple guidelines we kindly ask you to follow.

+
  1. Third-party events should be aligned with our agency mission and vision.
  2. Event organizers must provide their own liability insurance that covers events when necessary.
  3. Event organizers are responsible for obtaining all necessary event permits and liability waivers.
  4. It is agreed that the event host/organization will notify Child Crisis Arizona of any changes once the application has been approved. Child Crisis Arizona reserves the right to withdraw as beneficiary of the event at any time.
  5. The not-for-profit tax-exempt status of Child Crisis Arizona may not be used by the host organization to purchase items and materials with which to conduct the activity.
  6. If less than 100% of net proceeds will be donated, fundraisers must truthfully state the portion or amount of the proceeds which will be donated to Child Crisis Arizona in all advertising, promotions, and in all contact with donors, sponsors, and participants.
  7. Child Crisis Arizona is not required to provide financial support for the event.
  8. Publicity for your event may not imply sponsorship of any kind by Child Crisis Arizona.
  9. Child Crisis Arizona cannot provide funding or reimbursement for event expenses.
  10. Child Crisis Arizona may not be used in naming your event. For example, “Child Crisis Arizona Golf Tournament” is not acceptable. Instead, the event should be promoted as “Golf Tournament to benefit Child Crisis Arizona.”
  11. Raffles (bingo, lottery, drawings) must be approved by Child Crisis Arizona and registered with the state. Submit requests 30 days prior. Licenses are renewed annually and require a draft ticket for approval. Free entry and equal chance to win are required; selling tickets makes it a raffle.
  12. To protect the privacy of our donors, Child Crisis Arizona will not provide donor contact information.
  13. Notification of your event/fundraiser prior to it taking place is requested 30 days in advance and is appreciated.
  14. Use of Child Crisis Arizona’s name or logo requires approval. All printed and electronic collateral, advertising, or other event promotional material using the Child Crisis Arizona logo must be approved by Child Crisis Arizona in advance of production and must comply with usage and brand standards. (This includes invitations, posters, flyers, press releases, event shirt design, etc.)
  15. Child Crisis Arizona cannot guarantee help promoting the event through social media or press releases.
  16. Child Crisis Arizona cannot guarantee staff attendance at the event.
  17. By providing personal information, community event donors grant permission to receive communication from Child Crisis Arizona. Individuals will have opportunities to opt out of future communications.
  18. In order for a tax receipt to be issued, Child Crisis Arizona must be provided with the donor’s name, address, phone number, and donation information.
  19. Events must follow all fundraising laws. Tax receipting must be pre-approved by Child Crisis Arizona. Child Crisis Arizona can only issue receipts for checks made to “Child Crisis Arizona.” Inform Child Crisis Arizona of goods/services received for direct donations. Do not promise receipts to donors.
  20. The event host/organization agrees that all proceeds or donations will be mailed or delivered within 30-45 days to: Child Crisis Arizona - 424 W. Rio Salado Pkwy. Mesa, AZ 85201.
